Wellness Coaching Designed with Your Needs In Mind

Who can benefit from coaching?

  • Are you a black woman who is looking to reconnect with ancestral wisdom as you navigate your journey to wellness?
  • Are you a black woman who is looking to heal from racial trauma?
  • Are you a black woman healer who finds herself in need of healing?
  • Are you someone who has struggled to navigate systems that were not designed with our unique cultural needs in mind?

​If you answered 'yes' to any of those questions and you are looking for culturally relevant strategies for reclaiming your emotional health, this coaching program is for you. Options are available for group and individual coaching.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

The goal of the coach is to motivate and inspire you to reach your full potential. This time-limited, future oriented approach is helpful for those who are seeking to learn lifestyle practices that promote physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Coaching is not a substitute for individual therapy and is not intended to diagnose or treat mental illness. If you are currently struggling with severe symptoms of major depressive disorder, anxiety or post traumatic stress disorder, it is important that you seek the appropriate level of care in the form of counseling, psychotherapy, and/or psychiatric treatment in addition to wellness coaching.  

What can I expect from individual coaching?

You will work with Dr. Peoples individually to develop a strategy to help you conquer stress, transform fatigue and cultivate a holistic wellness practice that is in alignment with optimal wellness. As a result of coaching you will:
Learn and apply stress management techniques
Learn strategies for optimizing immune health during the current health crisis and beyond
Learn strategies for navigating through the unique challenges of being a black woman in the workplace
Understand the concept of energy management
Improve sleep quality by learning sleep hygiene practices and relaxation strategies that promote restful sleep 
Identify and address any barriers that may be standing in the way of incorporating regular physical exercise
Learn to recognize internal resources and apply them to creating a life that is in alignment with your values
Understand how environmental factors such as personal care products, household cleaners, etc. influence wellness
Learn to understand the food-mood connection and make nutritional choices that promote wellness

What can I expect from group coaching?

Similar to individual coaching, your 90-day group coaching package is also intended to help you build a solid foundation for cultivating a lifestyle that is in alignment with optimal wellness. The added benefit of working with the group is the camaraderie and accountability of being immersed in a sisterhood of women who are on similar wellness journeys as well as access to online learning modules and lively group discussions that address topics such as: 
Navigating cultural mis-match in the workplace
Understanding toxic stress
The Science of Spirituality
Decolonizing mental health
Transcending racial trauma
Healing soul wounds

Your group coaching package includes:

6 virtual group meetings with Dr. Peoples
Learning module 1 | Getting unstuck: Re-framing self-care as a lifestyle
Learning module 2 |  Sleep: Healthy habits for sleeping well and stressing less 
Learning module 3 | Movement: Harnessing the power of the brain-body connection and beyond
Learning module 4 | Awareness: Mindful tools for cultivating calm
Learning module 5 | Recognition: Embracing history, path, and purpose in the pursuit of wellness
Learning module 6 | Tailoring Inputs: The food-mood connection and beyond
